We only had two actors for our film these we my partner and a very close friend of ours this way we could trust everyone to be serious about filming. Also we only used two characters so that the attention could be on the protagonist and the audience woulnd't be be concentrating on other actors.
Frankie Duck - Drug dealer (Protagonist)
For our two minute intro film we only have one props this is:
Frankies Phone
We tried to have as little props as we could because we wanted to keep the focus on Frankie as a character to create suspense and have full focus on this one character and the situation he is in
To get an opinion from my target audience i am going to ask them to complete a questionnaire so i know what to include in my film and what will grab the audiences attention. I am going to ask people to fill out my questionnaire who like the genre thriller, i will also make sure that they are a certain age range which will be 15-30 year olds. I know from my own knowledge that this is the age range which people usually watch thrillers. The people I am going to ask to complete it will be thriller fans between 16-30 years old. I have also chosen this age range because audiences are attracted to the film if the main characters are the same age as the audience. These are the questions which will be on my questionnaire. I will ask 5 people to fill out my questionnaire. Do you enjoy watching thriller films? Yes No What location do you think of when thinking about the genre thriller? ________________________________________________________ What makes you want to watch a thriller film? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Which type of thriller do you like? Me and Frankie decided for our story that we would have three different locations these would be Swan Meadows, Waitrose car park, and Radwinter. However, after recording the first scene it came to our attention that it was over 40 seconds long which was quite a long time seeing as we only have 2 minutes to record the whole intro. We decided to keep this scene but to not have the Radwinter scene as it would be over 2 minutes long and the story wouldn't make any sense. This was a good idea because in the first scene we see Frankie almost running away from someone this creates a lot of tension, also in the Waitrose scene at the end we see Frankie dazing off into a deep sleep he then sees a blurry vision of a masked figure, this will make a great ending to the film and make it have a lot of tension. We both agreed on doing this and we though it would benefit us the most.
Me and Frankie have decided to record in two different locations these will be the Swan Meadow, and top of Waitrose in Saffron Walden. These are some of the pictures we took whilst recording.
This is a picture of our opening scene, where we see Frankie running towards the camera
This is a similar shot to the first one instead it has been turned 180*, which means that Frankie will be running away from the camera
This is a shot of our location at the Swan Meadows, in this scene we see Frankie running away from something
This is our Storyboard, it will remind us of the shots we take and every detail of the scene such as duration of the shot and the dialog that is included.
As I had chosen thriller as the genre of my opening of a film, I decided to get a defintion of thriller to make sure that I am creating a film to the correct genre.
Definition A genuine, standalone thriller is a film that provide thrills and keeps the audience cliff-hanging at the "edge of their seats" as the plot builds towards a climax. The tension usually arises when the character(s) is placed in a menacing situation, a mystery, or a trap from which escaping seems impossible. Life is threatened, usually because the principal character is unsuspectingly or unknowingly involved in a dangerous or potentially deadly situation.
I got this information from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thriller_(genre)
After reading this information I now know what to included in my 2 minute intro film.
Me and Frankie Duck have decided to choose thriller, as the genre for our two minute intro film. The reason for this is because this is what interests us the most and we think it will be thrilling and fun to make. Also most of our ideas fit in with the thriller genre. It also isn't a very complicated genre and would be rather simple to film.

Similar to The Green Mile an intro where a person relives a certain part of their life. I have chosen this because it's a clear example of what story line i would chose to go by in my intro to a film.
I was unable to embed the video due to copyright laws, I searched the whole of YouTube trying to find one to embedded but couldn't find one. I just had to use this intro because it was a perfect example of what I want my intro to include.
This isn't a movie. However, it is a clear example of what I would like my intro to include: a scene of someone in a deep sleep remember things that happened that night and in the early morning dealing with the consequences of what happened that night.
